Welcome to Heather's Hope Foundation, Inc.
Our mission is to promote awareness and prevention of teen dating abuse and domestic violence through education.
Heather’s Hope Foundation strongly believes that every woman and child has the right to live a healthy, safe, and fulfilling life free of fear and abuse. It is our desire, through fundraising efforts such as our annual 5k. Early prevention of teen dating abuse and domestic violence is a passion of the foundation. Our slogan, "Domestic Violence ……Nip in it the Bud!" says it all. We are committed to promoting awareness and prevention of teen dating abuse. Heather’s love of children and learning was evident through her commitment to education and her students. As a lasting legacy to her memory, the foundation will provide scholarships to students seeking degrees in education that demonstrate outstanding character, commitment and compassion for others. Victims who are currently in an abusive situation need help to guide them safely out of that relationship. Heather’s Hope Foundation plans to establish a media blitz that will include posters, brochures and radio PSAs that will provide information and hot line numbers for victim’s advocacy groups and programs. We feel that these media pieces need to be placed in strategic places, such as doctor’s offices, hair/nail salons, churches etc. to have the maximum exposure to victims of all backgrounds. Founded in April 2009, the Heather’s Hope Foundation serves as a means of preserving the spirit and memory of Heather Lynn Rimmer, mother, daughter, sister, niece, cousin, teacher and friend who passed away on August 23rd at the hands of her abusive spouse. Heather’s Hope Foundation is committed to raising awareness and educating the public about domestic abuse. The foundation has held a 5k yearly and we will continue to raise funds to assist the victims of domestic abuse through the support of local shelters. The foundation graciously welcomes support by means of volunteers for our events as well as monetary support from sponsors/donors as we continue to plant the seeds of hope against domestic violence. Heather’s Hope Foundation is a member of: NCADV - National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, FCADV - Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence, RRCA - Road Runners Club of America.
